Merrimack has the outlets, the office campuses along the turnpike and more than 26,000 residents. It has no obvious place to rent a car. Search for a car rental in Merrimack, NH and you’ll mostly be sent somewhere else: a counter in Nashua, or the rental lots at the airport in Manchester. Either one means getting yourself there first, which is hard when the reason you need a rental is that your own car isn’t available.
This guide is for people who live or work in Merrimack, in Reeds Ferry, Thorntons Ferry, South Merrimack or near the town center. It explains the two easiest ways to get a car from Vorenza Rental Cars, a locally owned company in Derry and Manchester, without a trip to a counter. It also covers the Everett Turnpike tolls, which have changed in the last few years, and how to match the car to what you need it for.
The short version: We can deliver to any Merrimack address. Merrimack is just outside our local delivery towns, so delivery is charged at a higher out-of-area rate based on distance, quoted before you pay. If someone can drop you off, picking up at our Manchester office on Candia Road avoids that fee. Merrimack’s own exit tolls are gone, and any automated tolls on a rental are billed monthly. Drivers 18 and up are welcome. Call (603) 661-2672.
Car rental in Merrimack, NH: your three options
There’s no counter to queue at. Choose the option that suits your day:
| Option | How it works | Cost to know about |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery to your Merrimack address | We bring the car to your home, office or hotel. You do a quick walk-around, sign, and drive | Out-of-area delivery rate based on distance, quoted at booking |
| Pickup at our Manchester office | 1086 Candia Rd, near I-93 Exit 7: up the turnpike and across I-293 from Merrimack | No delivery fee. You need a ride there |
| Pickup at our Derry office | 15 Central St, off I-93 Exit 4 | No delivery fee. Handy if you’re already heading that way |
Both offices are open 8 AM to 6 PM, seven days a week. After-hours pickup and return can be arranged in advance at no extra charge, which helps if you work a long shift. At the end of the rental you can bring the car back to either office, or ask for a quote on a scheduled pickup from your Merrimack address.
Why is Merrimack charged as out-of-area when it borders Manchester and Bedford? Our local delivery zone is a fixed list of towns around our two offices: Derry, Manchester, Bedford, Salem, Londonderry, Windham, Hampstead, Hooksett, Goffstown, Auburn and Candia. Towns outside that list, including Merrimack and Nashua, are quoted by distance. You see the figure before you pay.
The Everett Turnpike and tolls, as of 2026
The F.E. Everett Turnpike runs through the middle of Merrimack, and most of the town lives within a few minutes of it. Locals have seen the tolls change a lot, and visitors often still expect a toll booth at every exit. Here’s where things stand:
- Merrimack’s exit tolls are gone. The state stopped collecting the ramp tolls at Exit 11 at the start of 2020, and at Exit 10, the outlets exit, at the end of 2021.
- Bedford is where you pay. Driving north toward Manchester, you pass the mainline toll plaza in Bedford, between Exit 13 and I-293. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced that the Bedford plaza would switch to all-electronic tolling starting in January 2026, with booth removal and construction to follow.
- On a rental, tolls are billed later. Automated tolls are tracked and billed to you at the end of the month, so you don’t need to stop or find cash.
- Heading south to Massachusetts? The turnpike carries US-3 south through Nashua and into Massachusetts. Check the mileage section below if you’re commuting that way every day.
Daniel Webster Highway, which locals call the DW Highway (US-3), runs alongside the turnpike as the local road through town. Route 101A heads west toward Amherst and Milford. For more detail on the Bedford side of the line, our Bedford business travel guide covers the hotels and routes there.
