What a Goffstown delivery looks like

Booking online confirms the reservation straight away, and you get an email with the details. The day before, we text or call to confirm the time and the address, which is the moment to mention a gate code, a dorm entrance or a parking spot that is easy to miss. At the handover, we walk around the car with you for a quick inspection, you sign the agreement, and the keys are yours. Have three things ready:

  1. A valid license. New Hampshire, Massachusetts, any other US state, or an international license with an English translation.
  2. The card you booked with, for the deposit.
  3. Proof of your own insurance, if you plan to rely on it. If not, protection options are offered when you book.

At the end of the rental, we collect the car from the same address or you drop it at one of our offices. Let us know about anything unusual when you hand it back.

For Saint Anselm families and students

Saint Anselm College sits on the Goffstown side of the Manchester line, and the academic calendar drives a lot of our Goffstown bookings. The college’s Family Weekend ran October 2–4 this year, and the next waves are familiar: Thanksgiving break, the end of the fall semester, and Commencement in the spring.

  • Parents flying in. We don’t hand cars over at the MHT terminal, but our Manchester office is a short ride from the airport. Even simpler, have the car delivered to your hotel in our zone so it’s waiting when you arrive. Our airport delivery guide explains the options.
  • Students who need a car for a weekend. We rent to drivers 18 and older with no young-driver surcharge, which the national chains generally won’t do. Read more in our guide to renting at 18 in New Hampshire.
  • Moving rooms or heading home. An SUV swallows a semester’s worth of bins and a mini-fridge. Our college move-in rental guide has a packing plan that works in reverse at the end of term.
  • Commencement. It books up early every year. Our graduation weekend guide covers multi-car families and parking.

Book as soon as you know the dates. Cancelling 48 hours or more before pickup gets a full refund, so an early booking carries very little risk.

Getting around Goffstown

Goffstown is spread out, with three distinct centres: Pinardville in the southeast corner, which runs straight into West Manchester; Grasmere along the Piscataquog; and the village itself, where Routes 13 and 114 meet on Main Street. A handful of roads do most of the work.

  • Route 114A (Mast Road) is the main road through Pinardville and the quickest way into downtown Manchester and on to I-293.
  • Route 114 runs south toward Bedford, meeting Route 101 at the Bedford end. That is your road for the Everett Turnpike and points south. West of the village, it continues toward New Boston and Weare.
  • Route 13 heads north toward Dunbarton and west to New Boston, quiet roads that make a good loop in October.

For anywhere farther afield, such as Boston, the Seacoast or the mountains, you’ll pick up I-293 and I-93 through Manchester. Automated tolls on the Everett Turnpike and I-93 are tracked and billed at the end of the month.

A free afternoon in Goffstown

If you’re in town for a campus visit with a few hours to spare, or simply live here and want something to do this weekend, three ideas are close by.

  • The Uncanoonuc Mountains. Goffstown’s twin peaks are its landmark, and several trailheads sit along Mountain Road with small, free parking areas that fill early on fine weekends. Our guide to day hikes near Manchester covers the trails and parking in more detail.
  • The Giant Pumpkin Regatta. Every October, giant pumpkins are weighed, hollowed out and paddled down the Piscataquog in one of New Hampshire’s more gloriously odd traditions. Check the Goffstown Main Street Program for this year’s date and road closures before you drive in.
  • The rail trail. The old Goffstown branch railbed has been turned into a walking and cycling path. It’s flat, easy walking, and a good way to stretch your legs between campus events.

Our cars stay on paved roads, so plan a trailhead you can reach on pavement. If you’re unsure about a road, call and we’ll confirm.

For Goffstown households

Not every Goffstown rental is about the college. Most of our local calls fall into a few familiar situations:

  • The car is in the shop. We can often deliver the same day, and our replacement rental guide explains what your insurance may cover.
  • A trip that needs a bigger car. A foliage weekend, a holiday drive to family or a run to the airport with four suitcases. Ask about a custom mileage package for longer trips.
  • Family visiting. Have a car delivered to your driveway for the length of their stay so nobody is borrowing yours.
  • The dog is coming too. Pets are welcome with the pet fee added at checkout. Details are in our pet-friendly rental guide.

Whether you live off Mast Road or are flying in for a weekend on the Hilltop, car rental in Goffstown, NH should be no harder than giving us an address. Tell us where and when, and we’ll take care of the rest.
